The U.S. Embassy in Haiti bids farewell to Carene Desir and Sandra Jn-Gilles as they travel to the United States to attend the State Department International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on “The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations in promoting Women’s issues”.
Through this program, they will have the opportunity to discuss the interplay between Non-Governmental Organizations and government at the federal, state, and local level in supporting domestic and global women’s issues, to explore the intersectionality of challenges facing women, both on a national and international level, focusing on the work of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) addressing these issues; and they will review methods used by NGOs to empower women and girls to advocate for themselves, with a focus on innovative approaches to advocacy, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and sustainability.
Bon voyage and we look forward to your return!
