Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens
The U.S. Embassy informs U.S. citizens that there is an ongoing strike at the border crossing between the Dominican Republic and Haiti at Malpas. Cars are not currently able to enter Haiti via Malpas.
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
