Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (September 3, 2019)
Location: Blvd 15 Octobre at Torcelle and throughout Port-au-Prince
Events:
- There are specific reports of a roadblock at Blvd 15 Octobre in the area of Torcelle.
- Additionally, there is continuing protest activity throughout the city. The Haitian National Police is present and responding. U.S. Embassy personnel have been advised to continue to avoid non-essential travel.
Actions to take:
- Avoid the area;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
