Events:

RSO has received information of violent protest activity in Petionville and Champs de Mars near gasoline stations.  Burning tires, barricades, and rock throwing have been reported around:

  • Gathering on Blvd. Toussaint Louverture in DHL area.
  • Blockade and burning tires on Turgeau
  • Roadblock at Canapé-Vert.
  • Roadblock at different spot on Avenue Martin Luther King (Nazon).
  • Stone throwing on lower Pelerin on Kenscoff Road.
  • Stone throwing on lower Delmas on Main Delmas Road.
  • Stone throwing at Delmas 60 in the area of Ministry of Foreign Afffairs.
  • Burning tires at Rue St.-Honoré in Champs-de-Mars area.
  • Burning tires at Place Dessalines in Champs-de-Mars area.
  • Burning tires at Rue Lamarre in Camps-de-Mars area.
  • Burning tires at Rue Capois in Champs-de-Mars area.
  • Burning tires at the intersection of Avenue Jean Paul 2 and Martin Luther King.
  • Burning tires at the intersection of John Brown and Musseau.
  • Burning tires at the intersection of John Brown and Martin Luther King.
  • Shootings in Martissant.

Actions to take:

  • Avoid the area;
  • Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
  • Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
  • If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
