Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (October 23, 2019)
Location: In front of the gates of the National Society of Industrial Parks (SONAPI).
Events: A violent group of approximately 200 people has set fire to the front gates of SONAPI and is also throwing rocks at passing motorists.
Actions to take:
- Avoid the area;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
