Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (February 9, 2019)

Location: Near U.S. Embassy, Tabarre

Events: Large amounts of gunfire have occurred in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy and nearby housing. U.S. Embassy personnel have been instructed to shelter-in-place effective 5:00pm today until 7:00am on February 10th.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid the area
• Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
• Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
• If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
