Location: Petionville
Events: Fête Saint Pierre will be celebrated in Petionville this weekend (usually starting around 1630 on Saturday and ending at 0200hrs on Sunday morning), drawing thousands of people to Place Saint Pierre. Embassy employees have been reminded to keep windows rolled up and the doors locked while in vehicles. If caught in a crowd, employees have been advised to put the car in park until the band/crowd passes (i.e. not attempt to drive through the crowd).
Actions to take:
- Avoid the areas;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
