Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (February 23, 2020)
Location: Petionville and throughout Port-au-Prince
Events: Due to reports of gunfire and burning tires, movements of U.S. Embassy personnel are restricted to home to work, between the two residential compounds, and to Belmart. Travel restrictions are effective immediately until 0500 hours tomorrow, February 24.
Actions to take:
- Avoid the area;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
