Events: There are reports of planned demonstrations on Sunday, February 28 throughout Port au Prince, scheduled to begin at 11:00AM. The U.S. Embassy will restrict non-official travel of its direct-hire U.S. citizen staff to the immediate Embassy neighborhood after 10:00AM and urges U.S. citizens to exercise caution while traveling in Port au Prince.

- Rue Capois
- Avenue John Brown
- Avenue Martin Luther King (Nazon)
- Carrefour Aeroport
- Delmas
- Rue Marcadieu
- Bourdon/Petionville
- Rue Panamericaine
- Juvenat (UN Offices)
- Place Canapé-Vert
In addition, the rogue organization known as “Fantom 509” may also be active on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27. This group is known for their violent and unpredictable actions and have proven the ability to appear quickly in one area, and rapidly disappear and re-emerge in another. If you plan to travel on Saturday, consider departing early, and returning early, as patterns indicate that Fantom 509 is generally active in the afternoon.
Actions to take:
- Avoid the area;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
