Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (August 12, 2023)
Location: Port-au-Prince
Events: Due to ongoing police activity and heavy gunfire in the vicinity of the Embassy compound, all Mission personnel are restricted to the Mission compounds until further notice.
Actions to take:
· Avoid the area;
· Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
· Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
· If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
