Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (March 21, 2021)
Location: Port-au-Prince
Events: Currently, there are reports of ongoing demonstrations in the Nazon area, near the intersection of Blvd Martin Luther King and Ave John Brown and reports of burning tires at the intersection of Christ Roi. Please exercise caution if you are traveling, as protest activity can quickly spread to other areas, and has the potential to become violent.
Actions to take:
- Avoid the area;
- Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
- Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
- If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
