Over the last six years the Government of Haiti has implemented new and effective strategies and Haiti has significantly expanded access to PMTCT services.

PMTCT coverage now reaches 90% of HIV-infected pregnant women identified by our programs and together our HIV/AIDS prevention activities have resulted in a steady decline in the positivity rate of HIV transmission from mother to child from 9.2% in 2009 to 5.7% in 2016, a 38% decrease.

We recognize the important role of men and their involvement in PMTCT and we are working together to test male partners and conduct couple’s counseling.
