ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT INNOVATION FUND 2022

The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti is pleased to announce the launch of the 2022 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). AEIF 2022 promotes a post-driven alumni engagement opportunity, offering posts flexibility in collaborating with alumni teams to develop public service-oriented projects that directly support their individual Mission goals and foreign policy objectives.

Pending availability of funds, AEIF will consider proposals between $10,000 and $40,000. Proposals can be submitted at two times during the application cycle from November 1, 2021, to May 6, 2022.

The first submission deadline is February 4, 2022; the second April 15, 2022.

For an overview, eligibility requirements, and other important guidance, please refer to the “AEIF 2022 – Overview” document attached in the right-hand side of this announcement.

Participation in an exchange program is not a one-time event, but rather the beginning of an exchange of ideas that continues throughout a participant’s life.  Hundreds of Haitian students and professionals have benefitted from programs offered by the Office of Public Diplomacy of U.S. Embassy Port au Prince.  In order to maintain a strong working relationship with these well-rounded individuals, the Cultural Affairs Section has special programs and opportunities specifically for alumni.

Alumni find many ways to implement what they’ve learned while on their exchange program after returning home.  Around the globe, alumni are fostering mutual understanding by sharing their talents, knowledge, experience, and time with their community. Many have also risen to positions of prominence. Read about how individuals are giving back.

The Alumni Coordinator in Haiti promotes greater contact, cooperation, and programming with former participants of U.S. Government funded educational and cultural exchange programs.  She also maintains a database of alumni records and informs alumni on relevant information and new opportunities.  Haiti currently has one alumni association, the Associations des Anciens Boursiers Fulbright d’Haiti (ABFHA), which was created in 2009.  If you are a Fulbright or Humphrey alumni, ABFHA will gladly welcome you to the association.  All program alumni are encouraged to stay in touch.  For more information, email papalumni@state.gov.
