2023 ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT INNOVATION FUND (AEIF)
The U.S. Embassy in Haiti is pleased to announce the launch of the 2023 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). AEIF 2023 promotes a post-driven alumni engagement opportunity, offering posts flexibility in collaborating with alumni teams to develop public service-oriented projects that directly support individual Mission goals and foreign policy objectives. This annual funding opportunity is designed to strengthen the U.S. government’s relationship with exchange alumni, advance foreign policy goals and amplify the U.S. government’s return on investment in exchange programs.
Pending availability of funds, AEIF will consider proposals between $5,000 and $35,000. The submission deadline for proposals is March 15, 2023.
For an overview, eligibility requirements, and other important guidance, please refer to the “ 2023 AEIF – NOFO ” document attached in the right-hand side of this announcement.
Participation in an exchange program is not a one-time event, but rather the beginning of an exchange of ideas that continues throughout a participant’s life. Hundreds of Haitian students and professionals have benefitted from programs offered by the Office of Public Diplomacy of U.S. Embassy Port au Prince. In order to maintain a strong working relationship with these well-rounded individuals, the Cultural Affairs Section has special programs and opportunities specifically for alumni.
Alumni find many ways to implement what they’ve learned while on their exchange program after returning home. Around the globe, alumni are fostering mutual understanding by sharing their talents, knowledge, experience, and time with their community. Many have also risen to positions of prominence. The Alumni Coordinator in Haiti promotes greater contact, cooperation, and programming with former participants of U.S. Government funded educational and cultural exchange programs. She also maintains a database of alumni records and informs alumni on relevant information and new opportunities. All program alumni are encouraged to stay in touch.
