Demonstration to MUPANAH,

The U.S. embassy has received reports of a demonstration planned for this afternoon. The route is: 1- Départ Église Saint-Jean Bosco, Carrefour Péan, Bel-Air; 2- Rue Tiremasse ; 3- Rue St Martin ; 4- Carrefour Aviation ; 5- Delmas 2 ; 6- Delmas 18 ; 7- Carrefour Delmas Aéroport ; 8- Delmas 30 ; 9- Delmas 32 ; 10- Delmas 40B ; 11- Delmas 48 ; 12- Delmas 60 ; 13- Delmas 95 ; 14- Routes de Frères ; 15- Rue Rigaud ; 16- Route de Peguy-Ville ; 17- Morne Chatelain ; 18- Devant la résidence officielle du Canada ; 19- Devant la résidence de Martelly ; 20- Rue Chavannes ; 21- Rue Louverture ; 22- Devant Eglise Ste Thérèse ; 23- Devant Union School ; 24- Devant Marché Canapé-Vert ; 25- Turgeau devant Digicel ; 26- Turgeau devant Mariott Hôtel ; 27- Devant l’Eglise du Sacré-Cœur ; 28- Rue Marcelin ; 29- Rue Chavannes devant Radio Caraïbes ; 30- Rue Capois devant Ethnologie ; 31- MUPANAH (finish).

Please keep in mind that demonstrations in Haiti, even peaceful ones, can escalate quickly and even turn violent, so the Embassy urges all U.S. citizens to remain vigilant, be aware of their surroundings, and avoid this area as much as possible. Should you find yourself among or near protesters, depart the area immediately.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
